"We began taking lessons from Terry Perrone at the East Area YMCA.  We enjoyed them so much we progressed to private lessons.  Terry has a very positive, entertaining way of teaching the proper way to dance.  He tailors lessons to the interests and ability of the students and brings out the best in us all."

"Terry’s open Monday night group lessons are a great bargain.  He teaches the basics at a comfortable pace, yet offers new tips and stylizing for the more experienced dancers. He is willing to work with each of the students at their own pace and build on skills each week."

"I was a student with Terry for 6 years. I had never danced before, so I decided to start with private lessons before trying dancing with others. Terry was very patient and encouraging. He took the time to explain all the details and to work on fundamentals like posture, balance, and control. At Terry’s you get the most value for the money you spend. And you don’t have to make long-term commitments up front. For me, it really paid off to get all the attention of private lessons. Terry is a great teacher, whether it is mambo, foxtrot, argentine tango, or anything in between. I had fun learning and meeting new people. It is good exercise and great therapy for the mind!"

"I began taking dance lessons with Terry Perrone at the East Area YMCA one year ago. I had absolutely no ballroom dance experience and Terry thought that I would run away after my first dance lesson. Yet, thanks to his patience and attention I have come a long way since then. He gives all of his students, regardless of age or dance experience, the same amount of attention. I really enjoy the classes and have even gotten my granddaughter, Toma, to come along. Together we are also  taking private lessons, which are a lot of fun."

"Terry Perrone is a great dance consultant.  My wife and I have been taking private lessons from Terry for a couple of years when we were first mistaken to be dance instructors.  We have been asked to share some of our patterns by both experienced dancers and professional instructors.  Only to find out that they already knew the pattern, but what they really wanted was our “trick” to making it look good.  This is where Terry really shines.  It is not how many patterns I can remember (which is not many and getting fewer with age), it is how to execute them so that we look good, and more importantly to frame my wife in such a way that every woman wants to be her on the dance floor.  Terry patiently and meticulously teaches each pattern.  Each time he re-teaches the pattern he adds a little more styling.  So our “trick” is practice, practice, and really good instruction."

I am always impressed with the thoroughness that  Terry shows when he is teaching you all the necessary elements of the dance you have chosen to learn.  His passion shows.  Terry is patient with his students.  You can feel totally comfortable learning at your own pace.  With his easy going manner, you immediately feel at ease and ready to learn.  Syracuse is truly fortunate to have him live and teach here.  Enrich your life by calling him to dance!!

"I first met Terry at a dance in Syracuse. I noticed him right away across the other side of the room, standing in perfect 5th position.  I thought he has got Ballroom written all over him, and I also thought I really want to dance with him. I had to chase after him all night but I finally did catch up with him and ask him for his business card.  I originally trained in International style but really wanted to expand my repertoire in American style dancing. Dancing with Terry is a dream come true for me, every time I hop in the car for that 1 1/2 hour drive. I have never regretted one minute of our long distance dance relationship! I look forward to many more dance events in both Rochester and Syracuse and beyond! Thank you Terry for the wonderful memories!"

Terry Perrone is an excellent dance instructor. His position and stance on the dance floor inspires one to dance as a true ballroom dancer. He is a patient teacher and teaches to one’s level, leaving much time for the acquiring of new steps and patterns. I would highly recommend him as a ballroom dance instructor to all levels of dancers, from beginners to advanced.
